Your Site Definition

Your first step is to define your site type and goals. To get the ball rolling decide who will be involved in defining your goals, then determine whether you will get a formal or informal definition of your goals. Ask a lot questions...Here is a list of common questions that we hope are helpful.

You will need to agree on the the content of the site, and the purpose of the site, at least. Then you should turn your answers into a design document. Some web site types are... informational, educational, sales, training, reference and so on. Defining these things also helps you to define your audience.

bulletWho is the intended audience?
bulletWhat is the mission or purpose of the site?
bulletWhere will you host your site?
bulletWhat are the short and long term goals of the site?
bulletWhy will people visit your site?

We suggest that you help yourself by creating a flowchart or a storyboard of your site architecture.
